No. There is no swiping and no chatting before you meet: Aparté works like a matchmaking agency. You fill in an in-depth questionnaire, the algorithm introduces you to one person a week, and if you both accept, your first date is arranged for you.

Because endless choice is exhausting and makes everyone feel interchangeable. One match a week means real attention paid to a real person, and dates that actually mean something.

Written exchanges build expectations, then disappointment, and many conversations never lead to a meeting. Before you meet, you each ask five questions chosen from a curated set: enough to spark curiosity, not enough to say it all.

You each say privately whether you’d like to see the other person again. If you both say yes, the conversation opens. If not, you each simply receive a “not this time”, without knowing who said no.

It compares your answers with what each of you is open to in the other, taking into account how much each criterion matters and your deal-breakers. Compatibility is calculated both ways: a match is only suggested if it works for both of you. Everything is explained on our “Our algorithm” page.

You can pass, and give a reason if you wish. It refines the next suggestions and is never shared with the other person.

Some weeks, nobody is compatible enough: we would rather wait than suggest a date that isn’t worth your time. If you receive no match during a month of subscription, the following month is on us.

Signing up, the questionnaire and your relationship portrait are free. To see your match and arrange the date, the subscription is €9.99 per month with no commitment, or €89.99 per year.

In each city, the first 50 verified profiles (identity verified and questionnaire completed) get 3 months free. Those 3 months start on the day of their first match, not before: nothing is lost while the city fills up.

Never before you have a match. The subscription is only offered once a match is waiting for you.

In two taps, from the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid. For a subscription taken through the App Store or Google Play, you can also manage it from your store settings.

No. Paying changes nothing in the algorithm’s rankings: the subscription only lets you see your match and arrange the date.

Yes, all of them. Every profile goes through an identity check (ID document and live selfie) before it can receive a match, and every photo is moderated.

They are used only to calculate your compatibility. Sensitive answers (religion, health, orientation…) are encrypted, only used with your explicit consent, and never appear among the reasons for a match. You can export or delete your data at any time.

Aparté opens first in Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, then city by city, so that every match is a fair one. Matching starts once a city has enough verified profiles: the first matches arrive within a few days to a few weeks, while the city fills up.
